23th of September2014, an opening of Regional robotics tournament will take place in Murmansk, it will be opening of the season "RoboArctica - 2014/2015".

Tournament organizers are the Ministry on education and science of Murmansk region and the regional representative of the Russian Association of educational robotics LLC "Klassnoye delo". The tournament will involve teams from different municipal units of Murmansk region.

The program of the tournament includes the following competitions in free category: "The first step in robotics": ("WeDo", "Kegelring", "Sumo"), "Sumo. Walking robots", "Kegelring Macro BW" and "Trajectory. Puzzle".

The tournament is held in various age groups.

"The first step in robotics": in the competition "WeDo" students to 10 years old take part, in the competition "Kegelring" students, participating in the robotics competition in this category for the first time take part, date of birth of participants shouldn’t be earlier than January 1, 2003; in the competition "Sumo" students, participating in the robotics competition in this category for the first time take part, date of birth of participants shouldn’t be earlier than January 1, 2002. In other types of competitions admission of participants is carried out without age restrictions.
The participants will have the opportunity to show to the jury the results of their work - working models and to demonstrate creative thinking.

The seating of judges will include the representatives of the Russian Association of educational robotics, specialists of higher educational institutions of the region: Murmansk state Humanitarian University, Murmansk state technical University, teachers of educational institutions of the region, with wide experience in the areas of "Technical creativity" and "Robotics".

During the tournament there will be a meeting with members of the all-Russian robotic Olympiad, held in June 2014 in Kazan, who will demonstrate working models of robots and make presentations of creative projects, which they presented at the Olympiad.

During these days there will be first stage of further education courses for teachers, organized under the auspices of the Institute of new technologies". Teachers will get acquainted with different types of robotic Lego, their educational opportunities. The program is designed for 72 hours each and will be implemented in full-time-distance form.
The closure of the Regional robotics tournament will be held 25 September 2014.
