Railway service

The main and the only railway station in the city of Murmansk, receiving all, without exception, passenger trains, is the "Murmansk Railway Station" , located at the address: 183038, Murmansk, Privokzalnaya str., 14 .

The station serves the main traffic railway artery of the Oktyabrskaya Railway of JSC "Russian Railways" – from St. Petersburg to Murmansk. The total length of the railway network in the Murmansk region is 891 km.

Every day a direct railway link from Murmansk to St. Petersburg, Vologda, Moscow, Minsk, and many others cities is exercised, and in the summer you can take to the southern cities of the country (Anapa, Adler and others) by train.

Motor transport

Murmansk is located on federal highway "Kola" (M18) the length from Murmansk to St. Petersburg is about 1400 km. By highway you can reach every corner of the region and, of course, to St. Petersburg and Moscow.

Murmansk is the starting point of the road "A138" to Norway and "R12" to Finland. There are three international automobile check points on the state border of the Russian Federation on the territory of Murmansk region:

• "Borisoglebsk" is the only point of crossing the state border to Norway, situated in the territory of Pechenga district of Murmansk region near the small town Borisoglebsk.
• "Lotta" is the crossing point of the state border to Finland, situated in the territory of Kola district of Murmansk region near the small town Svetliy.
• "Salla" is the crossing point of the state border to Finland, situated in the territory of Kandalaksha district of Murmansk region near the rural town Alakurtti.
