The origins of this holiday are inextricably linked with the celebration of Saints Cyril and Methodius - Slav educators, creators of the Slavic alphabet.

Every year in May, the central streets of the city passes a procession to the monument to Cyril and Methodius, near the Murmansk Regional Library of Murmansk, where are the main activities.
